A Year in Review

Well, more like half a year in review that is almost half a month late in being written. I am not too sure how these things work, since this is a first time and everything. D:

2011.

Hm. If I was anymore dramatic I would say: What a year!! :OO But it was only just quite the year. Obviously it didn't start out all that interesting at all because I am a fandom-driven person and 2011 began with a fandom-less fangirl (a little like a homeless uni student, just sadness all around really OTL).

Hence, my rapid descend into BL manga. Mind you, not that I haven't been reading them before but I was just consuming any and all BL that I came into contact with. I was quite the BL-eating-machine! /proud-ish? XD

And of course, Echochi happened: technically I joined when cheezy announced this baby back in 2010 but it wasn't until 2011 that I started helping the group with Saiyaku! (And now, I am even starting on a new series: Kimi to Parade, who would've thought!) Thank you for all your patience with this noob of a translator! V

Yes and then the inevitable happened. I watched X-Men: First Class. (Enough said, I am still churning out fanfics like I just watched it yesterday.) The fandom has great materials, high-quality fics, huge amounts of AUs and rather popularized kinks, some I approve, some I am still a little queasy about.

One thing that is a little different from my previous fandom experience is the amount of big names in this fandom. If you don't read (I can't though because I have serious dom/sub issues) you're kinda out of the loop. OTL And did I mention these writer's mutant ability for word count? It's eye-opening the amount of writing these people can do.

Still fanfic related because my life doesn't really consist of much outside of this: Discovery of the site AO3. Fantastic for reading fanfics: you want all your specific kinks, you're getting all your kinks. But I am still no good with new things, hence my desperate clinging to Fanfiction.net ;)

XMFC also led me into the world of Western media: action films, comic books, BBC, television series. I can hardly recognize celebrities' faces, let alone their names. But now, I can say I actually live in the Western hemisphere! Most thanks to Tumblr! (And of course, McFassy, my first every RPF: Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy and their bromantic romance that I've come to ship almost as hard as their counterpart Erik and Charles.)

By the way, have I mentioned Tumblr? It's addicting. I guess it is my version of most people's facebook. ;) I even learned how to talk in gifs!

2011 also marked my first stumble into podcasts (sort of like online radio shows)! I got my first taste with /report: They talk about a larger variety television series (these people watch a lot of tv), fanfiction, BL, writing, and of course, porn. So, practically everything I have become over the past year. What I learned: strong like ox(/water buffaloes if I am allowed to spoil their Best & Worst of 2011), lady boners, moonklutz has a lot of FEELINGS, rageprufrock is dead inside, and Western media is pretty much equivalent to homoeroticism on too many levels.

They just wrapped up their season 1 in Dec 2011 and shall be coming back with a season 2 in Feb! (Can't say I won't be looking forward to it!)

Nearly forgot: 2011 marks my first year in university! And it mainly consists of abusing the school's wireless, snacking on crackers and drinking juice like they are my lifeline, and consistent midterms that just won't go away! DD: And it always get me feelin' a little like this: I'm not suicidal, I just can't get out of bed. /nods

It's true.

All in all 2011 was a good year, I'll say :D

Yesterday:

I had my anatomy lab: meaning I got to wear a lab coat and vinyl gloves and touch bodies!!

*u* Shame that we can't take pictures because then it would be disrespectful to the cadavers. But still, hands-on stuff like this is so much fun. I get to touch pecs (dead and skinless pectoral muscles that is kind of dried fish hanging around... OTL) but I still got to touch pecs! :D

When I applied for this program, I had no idea I was signing on for something like this so it was quite the pleasant surprise! (Still, a little shock that they would let first year uni students to do a lab like this!)

Still the same old me running around like a headless chicken to get things settled down when it comes to classes and getting lost on my way to most of my classes as always but things have been rather messy generally.

Just watched Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. (I don't need to point to the HOTTEST COUPLE on the front cover.)

But yeah: HO-MY-GOD.

I think my gaydar broke.

Thanks to RDJr. and Jude Law, it is dysfunctional right now. My brain is still being gay-ified by their completely heterosexual-relationship. Subtext? What the fuck is that even? THERE WAS NO SUB. PURE TEXT AND IN YOUR FACE GAY.

I am still overwhelmed by how much cosplay RDJr. got to go through in this film ~~(HE WAS A CHAIR FOR GOD'S SAKE).~~ AND THE AMOUNT OF GAY. Oh gods, just gay. Guy Richie took SH1's married couple bantering and times it to the gay power of infinite to give us SH2.

And all the awkward man-laugh in the theatre. I think I spent the entire time just wavering between the emotion of WTF AM I WATCHING and EMBARRASSMENT for them. (Really boys, tone the gay down.)

Also... yeah, Watson gets married. (Spoilers: And then Sherlock tosses Watson's newly-wedded wife out of a moving train in a fit of jealousy (?) and convenience and then they proceed to have angry-train!sex/rape/slight dub-con where they end up getting cockblocked in the act by men with big guns but fear not, Sherlock has got this all down to one deliberate shot. And then I gay all over place.)

Oh yeah, have I forgot to talk about plot? Umm... big guns? machine guns? explosives? canons? and extreme mind!fights. The action sequences are really over the top but trust me, it's mostly just gay. OTL

Good news? Bad news? Still contemplating but it is certainly BIG news (or at least for myself) XD

SHALL BE GOING BACK TO HK FOR 2 MONTHS AND THEN TO JAPAN FOR 3 WEEKS!! (Right after I finish my second term at uni.)

The 2 months in HK really doesn't bring me the excitement I should have b/c I will be forced to see a d-bag that I must technically call a cousin but anything for my grandmother so I shall stay. But I do hope I can go to neighboring countries, Taiwan? Singapore? China? (I was hoping to go to some anime-cons but it doesn't seem that my time will match their schedules /BIGGEST REGRET OF MY LIFE)

BUT. The main thing I am both nervous and completely excited for is going to Japan for 3 whole weeks. Mind you that I will be making the trip by myself (lonely traveler desu!) and for the first time ever too! >u< I am still not too sure how I would survive, not only b/c my Japanese is crappier than crap and b/c I am on limited cash as well, I think I am dumping a huge wad on buying the JR pass for traveling around during my stay XDD

Still! Planning needs to happen (and yes, cheezy I am looking right at you, my Japan-guru ;D) what are the must-see/must-go places in Japan? And good (and cheap) lodging? Any tips? Mannerism I should take note of?

So that obviously calls for celebration! And of course that means: movie night~~

First up on the must-see block: INCEPTION! (I can feel the condemning stares already, like why aren't you on the EamesArthur ship yet? Well... I have no good excuse other than I hate Leonardo DiCaprio's face... OTL But that will all change b/c I shall be watching it in a few hours :D /excited!)

Next! Two films starring James McAvoy: The Last Station and Starter for 10! :D B/c I am all for the Jungkov craze over on tumblr so I must take a look for myself how adorable I-sneeze-when-I-am-nervous!Valentin Bulgakov!James McAvoy is ;) And Starter for 10? nerdy!James? How can I say no, really.

More! Watching Sherlock Holmes in two days!! I really should be a lot more excited for someone who is going to get to see RDJr. in drag but I am pretty sure that will change after I watch it ;D Looking forward to Jude Law and RDJr.'s married-life bantering, train!sex, and yeah sure... mystery-solving? When I sleep, I don't usually wake up. And I don't know what time zone I am in anymore because time is divided between studying and eating with internet breaks in between. D:

Green Porno and Seduce Me is a series of mini videos all about animal/insect sex. It is both comical (as you can see from the example above) and highly convincing. I honestly believe Isabella Rossellini deserves all the awards for the performance she gives us. It is eerie, unsettling and whole-heartedly entertaining all at the same time.

But really this isn't just for dirty jokes, there is a certain artistic quality to everything they do, from the story to the execution. This really is something to watch. And also because this is graphic animal and insect porn but I think you get the point by now XD

This makes my day and probably the days after this.

And of course, I don't dare to leave you hanging with just a taste of all this porno-goodness ;)

Living in residence with your friends is like a four month long sleep-over party but much more real (and nerdy and studious) and definitely less glamorous (no sexy pillow fights in lingerie or heart-to-heart discussion on our latest boy-crushes.) I have a creepy preference for singers who 'sound like they are high all the time' or so my sisters say. And no, I cannot disagree because if I listen to my all-time favorites on my playlist with a critical ear, it is pretty much high female vocals singing some mindless song.

Just like I can listen to James McAvoy's accent all day long, I can hear her sing just the same. I discovered her through the anime OP for Arakawa Under the Bridge, a hilarious and weirdly out of this world manga. And obviously proceed to find all her previous albums and singles and she has the most adorable voice ever.

It has been five months since I saw the movie. Can this really be true? I am beyond gleeful at these thoughts. A fangirl needs some consistent obsessions to ground her in place.

And yes, this is another fandom rant. (So please don't say I didn't warn anyone.) This one is positive though, I think. ;)

Real People Slash:
I never shipped RPS. Never even imagined RPS was ship-able until McAvoy and Fassbender because as I said before, I sincerely believe shipping real people together will land me in a different hell already and I am not even religious in any sense of the word.

Cultural Diversity:
I rarely watched Western dramas (I was quite the Japanese-geek!) and mostly because I never found these movie stars were moe, pretty and beautiful yes but still very much human and too real for my taste, never ever MOE (and then there is James McAvoy and even Catavoy!!!) O my heart, I honestly never thought I would get into anything outside the 2D realm.

Plot Over Porn?:
But one thing I never imagined myself to get interested in is comics. And by that I mean Marvel comics, not even the manga type. Because I will easily admit, I am shallow. I like my art pretty so my boys are good looking enough to be slashed so thoroughly. But then I get roped into XMFC and for someone who usually obsessively values original sources, I hadn't thought I would be remotely interested in the comic!canons. I mean Marvel has its own original style but the art is not my taste, not at all. I am used to reading for gorgeous art, not tightly muscle men with skin-tight costumes. D: But I am tempted to read up some background comic!canon Magneto/Prof.X.

Summary:
A young woman dies on the London tube and all of two minutes apart, a young teenage boy is killed by a hired professional. A politician's secret is exposed, a newspaper agency gets a hold of valuable information, and drama unravels along the way.

Commentary:
In which, James plays a young married man who is practically both a gay magnet and a human gay radar, and yeah a freelance journalist with the baby-est face on the side as well.

No lies, not even a single shred of hesitation really: I watched this solely to see James McAvoy deep throat his ring finger in order to lube it up so he can take his marriage ring off: just so he can flirt shamelessly with a gay man for info. Have my heart, you wholeheartedly dedicated work-slut!

(At this point, I have done this so many times, I don't even feel a shred of shame. /shrugs)

Aside from all the adorable James running around like a fresh off graduate student, this story is hell exciting. There is suspense, murder, conspiracy, and a lot of mysteries! Everyone is bent out on finding the truth but of course, there are love affairs, best friend sleeping with best friend's semi-ex-wife, best of men friends, bitching father-son relationship, adorable father-son relationship, secrets, secrets, secrets and just about all the good and bad dramas have.

Since I love freelance-journalist!James, I got to do some golden quotes for this cheeky Scottish chappy ;)

Susan, ex-professor-with-a-taste-for-twitchy-undergrads (total cougar): Have you put on weight?
Dan Foster (James McAvoy): Only on the penis, thank god.

So watch it, for the suspense, the action, the cute James McAvoy, whatever you like. It is well worth the time!

The following is an unsuspected fandom rant. Please beware, I have nothing against anyone, I just have thoughts and feelings I need to get out so I can return to a more wholesome and healthy Kuro who is not strung out on Erik & Charles and physics. They are the greatest love and hate of my life.

Extremes are bad. Balance is good. I am trying.

Sub!Charles is not growing on me with an increasing need in the fandom for a totally doe-blue-eyed boy.

And it's not that I don't find him adorable, I do, I am absolutely crushing on Charles like I crush on James McAvoy. But it feels so unbelievably out of character, he is a thirty year old man, if not a telepath. And it's absolutely not because I find that age to be unappealing or slashable because anyone who knows me has gotta know older men=my biggest kink ever.

And it's not like I don't want Charles as the bottom, I love him playing the uke in the relationship but I hate seeing him submit or 'enjoy' submitting to control no matter how sweet and tender, oh this word, the sex may be. And I think I might sound contradictory but I firmly believe that there is a difference between submission and gay bum sex.

There is no doubt about it, I am sure there are wonderful writers who write great sub!Charles and there are fics that I have read before (this uneasy feeling of reading sub!Charles grew on me) that I thought were wonderful and exceptional. And I know its just another kink but there is a scary notion for me when I see this character being written in the fashion like it's alright to submit to control.

This is a personal opinion among everything else:

Charles Xavier is the epitome of a whole new world and he won't take your shit.

Thus, implying I also don't like it when Erik becomes overly dominant either. Because he is not a possessive character, obsessive ~~maybe~~ probably actually, but I don't think one should confuse the two. He may not be charismatic like Charles but he has a certain charm, or at least something close to it that propelled Charles to him.

(Maybe it's his magnetism? Oh my jokes are horrible, I know.)

Height differences aside, I can't see Charles being manhandled at all. He can be all the apple pie and sunshine and blue skies in the world but he is a telepath (AUs aside of course). Just like Erik may be viewed as the more physical one or the one with the stick constantly up his ass (no pun intended here I swear), he is still a little boy who has lost his mum. There is a vulnerability to that, one that even Charles can't compete with.

(Not something I would want to compete with, mind you.)

And its because of this constant vulnerability in Erik that Charles matches up with the understanding that makes their relationship a perfect balance.

If either one steps over that line, everything will topple over, like the horrible beach divorce all over again.

So yes, I like them ambiguous, like they don't know who is seme and who is uke because it doesn't even matter, they are in love. And its finally wholesome again.

Do note, this is not fandom hate at all (as I am aware that XMFC has a rather large fan base with a tendency to hate on quite a few things: cockblocking girls for one), this is fandom love. No fandom has conjure this sort of emotion or at least this strong of an opinion from me, because I am usually the passive-obsessive reader lurking all over your fanfics and then also the endlessly updating writer who won't leave that single pairing alone with her annoying antics and plot?what plot?fics. But there are preferences and then there is this.

Erik and Charles does it for me. Fandom is great.

Summary:
JUST WHAT I NEEDED IN MY LIFE. (Oh yes, a continuation of the above.)

I am never one for legal dramas because I can't understand it. Maybe it is all those professional terms. But then these two come by and my god, the law heavens are singing to me and I can understand evry single word that is spewing from their lips. They are flirting and the amount of UST on screen is just unbelievable.

These two are adorable, good looking, and totally slashable.

But gay (sub)text aside, the story has substance, comedic situations and exciting action bits! Hitting everything on my must-have list ;D Patrick J. Adams (plays Mike) even has his own photo gallery! Some are just too gorgeous, so I had to share!

Summary:
To be honest, I don't really get the story line so I don't want to confuse anyone. Hence: wiki!

Commentary:
For all the obvious reasons, I am not a sci-fi fan: I don't speak whatever they speak. I don't believe in making up a new language because that is just plain difficult to understand. So to simplify it in words us, fangirls, understand, this is a: Shirtless-bb!James McAvoy riding worms three-part series.

And really, it shouldn't have the connotations it does have, I wholeheartedly apologize, I think. OTL

Although if you are really pressed for time, part 1 can be skipped because it places focus on LetoII (James)'s daddy. There are only random flashes of LetoII prancing around in his dad's dreams/hallucination with no shirt on. YUM. But part 1 does set up a nice background, especially those who have never read the books (me, me, and me.)

Over all, it's a good series. A little less than average in the graphics department but it was in 2003, I have no blame. But the story is exciting, there's action (of both kinds) and bb!James McAvoy!!! You can't want anything else, honestly. So like go watch it. Go. Go!!

My major, hopefully with no fails, will be kinesiology. And first introductory course into this field, my professor tells us he specializes in spine injuries. (Note, at this point, I am just trying to stay awake.) And then he introduces our TA to us, and she is really pretty (here, I perk up.) And then he tells us her thesis:

When I fail to blog, real life happens (like a truck hitting me head on.)

And yes, I don't deal well with real life, at all.

Uni is the first hit on the head. Biology, chemistry, physics all in the same semester. Not even high school has put me through this kind of torture and high school science was kind of... well, kind. XD Also, I have never taken high school physics, so who was I kidding when I was shoved into uni-level physics... OTL

Still, I promise to work hard even if its the last thing I do!! (I need a double success james and fassy gif here or something XD)

But really, living on your own, miles and miles from home is kind of lonely and frankly a little boring D': I miss being ridiculously loud and retarded with family who is used to me screaming mcfassy when I come home D:

Textbooks are heavy and expensive, the thickness of one of my chemistry textbook alone is two inches, the two put together can literally maim someone twice over and then some more. D:

Being on residence feels like I am living out of a box even though I'll be here for the next eight months! D: I don't like it here, it's cold and dry one week, hot and humid the next, and thunderstorms in the middle of a glorious day (like wth?) and the fact that UW (my uni name) is in the middle of nowhere also adds to my dismay. D:

I know I am being ridiculous but adapting really isn't my forte. D:

Hm.

I was strictly a 2D girl where boys in black and white boxes kept me quite content (hyped on some days and obsessed on others) really.

And then I fell into a ditch (or so my mind naturally suplies: manhole... my gosh, really??) that goes by the name of McFassy or Cherik or XMFC.

1. Moving into uni life starts in-holy shit 9 days??!
2. I make xmfc!collages till 3 a-fucking-m.
3. Every time I open my computer, I check every possible Cherik/McFassy tumblr then comms for updates before I check my email.
4. I haven't read a single manga update since... uhhh... 10 weeks ago.
5. I react to the words: first class, sharks, etc. like someone shouted McFassy porn in the public (which I actually did, pure accidentally of course.)

And yes, for some reason, I firmly believe that I won't go to hell until I really write McFassy (as in the rpslash: Fassbender/McAvoy and not Erik/Charles.)

:) Yet, I am so happy, I am despairing a little, just a little though.

My love for McFassy has no boundaries and I am willing to show off my pale skin and too blue veins in favor of love.

Yes, basically everything is McFassy and nothing hurts.

Though the blue pen was a little pointy and yes, this is blue/black pen on skin.

They were all a little too orange-y before manipulation because turning on the flash will only result in some pretty disgustingly pale body parts (just feet and arms, nothing too weird, I promise.)

Toronto's 31st Pride Parade and my very first! :D

It was rainbow flags and men chest 360 degrees all around. I don't even know where to start, I think my brains still haven't had the time to absorb everything XDDD And as they say, a picture can tell a thousand words so why not just let me spam you little pics of things that I saw besides the back of people's head because there were so many people!!

I had to put stripper boy in the middle and he wasn't even a part of the parade. He was just a man on a pole that caught everyone's eyes on the street XDDD And for some reason, I find Canada's flag a lot more appealing now that we've become the Weed Nation (top row, right) XD

The main sponsor for this event was Trojan (condom company) and their really popular condom (called Fire and Ice) was represented by a firetruck with men from 300 grinding down on top followed by an ice-cream truck... I guess that was the closest sort of vehicle they could get their hands on OOTL

Also, there was a rather surprising sponsor for this event:

TD Bank??! OvO Really?? And they even have their very own drag queen? Unfair!

It was fun, rather loud but the atmosphere was great. Everyone was just totally hyped up! I think it is a very interesting experience even if I wasn't a crazed fangirl and last but not least (we all know I just can't resist!!):

Commentary:
Kyaaaa!!! >////< First time watching the trailer, I knew it was going to be gay-ish (I mean, I see gay in anything) but I hadn't expect the full-blown GAY FEST that my eyes got.

I honestly don't think I could have asked for anything better. Despite their destined and tragic divorce at the end, from how they met to how they must split, the adorable slashy bromance between these two gorgeous boys just made me coo and blush in my theater-chair for the full 2 hours and 12 minutes.

Even though, they both shared a kiss with another female lead in the movie but it hardly took away from their honest infatuation with each other. I swear the entire film is more like a documentary of their love story, from a destined meeting to their ultimate divorce, there were tears, sharing of the same bed, a honeymoon across the globe and a whole lot of screaming Erik's name on Charles' part...

Look, even the poster up on top has Charles X Erik blatantly sprawled across the top, though I am sure the majority prefers ErikCharles but I say real men switch! And with those large bambi eyes, Erik can be just as uke as Charles and his groovy pick up lines.

Despite knowing how they look when they grow old (lose their hair/end up in a plastic box), they might as well announce this as the gayest possible film after Sherlock Holmes.

Go watch it NOW. Don't even hesitate because for one, I just watched it last night and I want to watch it again. (GIVE ME HD DVD VER. NOW)

Getting cozy in front of the fireplace, complete with a deep stare-into-my-eyes connection only old married couples can share. (PST! Are those roses in the back??!!) The only thing missing would be scented candles.

Cute posters are cute. Duration: roughly 3-4 hours? and all hand-sewn because I am both too poor and too technically challenged for a sewing machine XDD

Personally I did not think the blue on the inside would look this good! :D Hence, I am planning to make more, still I don't know what they can be used for... D: Pencil cases? random baggie? But there is always a need for little bags to pack random junk, right?

Title: Bunny Drop/Usagi Drop (うさぎドロップ)

Release: August 20 2011 based on Unita Yumi's josei manga with the same name.

Summary: Daikichi is a 30 year old man going back home for his grandfather's funeral when he meets a little girl by the name of Rin. Turns out, she is the illegitimate child of his grandfather (and by relationship chart, this 6 years old girl is his aunt, technically.)

While the rest of his family gets caught up in the shock and embarrassment after learning about Rin's existence, Daikichi decides to take Rin in and care for her, despite the fact that he is a single man with no experience in raising a child before.

Commentary: It's adorable, super heart-warming and just simply sweet. (or maybe I am just growing older and things like these just gets me.)

But maybe I was just roped into this because there is an uncle-type figure in here despite how lame he is!! (Kya...?) XDD But when we get to volume 5, a time skip occurs and we see them as adolescences and man do they look good! : D

The josei manga aside, I really look forward to the film that is going to be released in the summer! Matsuyama Kenichi (L from Death Note) and the little girl both look very cute. I really like L's short boy cut, a lot!~ I just don't think I can stress on that enough -thumbs up- *u*

While I can't wait for August to come, anyone interested or mildly interested should just go watch their trailers! :D

So it's decided (by all and reluctantly me after MUCH convincing) that I will be going to the Uni of W in the fall.

A school a bit more than an hour and a half from where I live. Thus, meaning I shall be moving out of my home starting from September!

Is this what I really want?

I don't know because course wise, I never have much of an interest in anything (beside BL of course but unfortunately there is probably no school in the world that offers me a chance to become the first professor of BL.) It is all a little exciting and rather nerve-wrecking though and when the school comes banging on my door for me to pay up, there will be a major pain in wallets at my household. OTL

Why are our futures so damn expensive? And last but not least, I hope I don't regret on my decision! ><

Title: MO' SOME STING

Release: One Volume (five chapters) in 2009.

Summary:
A masochistic lawyer, two gay yakuzas, a young girl running for her life and an insurance agent who wants nothing to do with the mess. Five people, five separate circumstances and a situation that ties them all together. Somehow, none of them just can't seem to escape one another no matter how hard they try.

Commentary:
Sensei always had a godly ability to draw amazingly awkward men in equally awkward situation. But this book steps away from all that and focuses on action (no, not the let's roll around in the bed sheets type but more like action-adventure type!) And I find it really refreshing~

To me the story was quite fast-paced but it wasn't in a rush at all. A lot of punches were thrown but no one dies even though most of them do get hurt quite badly... DD:

The characters were adorable. Like the too many gay yakuzas (I mean where do you find these men??) and the cute but totally masochistic lawyer, everyone just has a fun and all around personality, you honestly can't hate any of them. No, not even the bad guy because you will come to like him at the end, no doubt!

And just like all the other female characters sensei has in her BL works, they are great, not a bitch, not an annoying bumbling mess of tears, rather they are strong independent girls who can actually survive in the real world unlike all these strange gay men XD

A must read of Tamashita Tomoko sensei's works because it totally convinced me that love might actually make the world turn on its axis.

Title: Chance!

Summary:
It was love at first sight for swimmer Kujou when he met Mizumura, a mysterious senpai at his school. Even though Mizumura does reciprocate the feelings and the two of them do get together. But for Mizumura, things at home begin to go downhill fast and he is forced to leave.

Commentary:
I think this might be the first time I am doing a rec for a legit BL manga (and not just a proper hot-blooded shounen JUMP series that my brain had twisted into BL materials...) *u*

So in reality, I don't think the fancy glitter-glitter cover do much justice to the story inside. Even though I do have to admit I was roped into reading it because of all that fancy sparkles around them and I was expecting nothing but pretty art and flat if not no plot at all. D:

BUT, the story was like 100 times better than my expectation. It was bittersweet, a little tragic and a whole lot of love. Art wise, it is simple with a rough almost messy sort of style for the characters but the background also have such gorgeous details. Both characters are not blatantly created to fit inside a seme/uke category, rather they are both so real in terms of personality and that really gives a realistic edge to the story, especially the hopelessly in love Kujou-kun. -thumbs up-

Sometimes, it is just hard to find quality BL that steps away from all that mindless excuses to screw... everywhere and I think this manga really steps up to the plate. So even though it may be way too clean (a few kiss scenes and a little bit of subtle touching) I still thought it was WELL worth the read.

Oh gosh, I have such an irrational fear of stepping on earthworms crawling across the sidewalks on rainy days. -shivers-

For someone who can take gore and blood on a totally different level, I am deathly afraid of earthworms on the sidewalk and rainy days are their favorite time to come out and be their creepy crawly fat self. And the pathetic thing is I am super fond of rainy days (it's something about the moist atmosphere) but then I leave the house and THERE THEY ARE!!! -horrified scream-

I don't want to look at them but if I step on them, that just makes me feel even more disgusted because of its squishy intestines beneath your shoes (and your bare feet are only separated by that thin rubber sole and one layer of socks!!) so then I have to look at them.

I think I may be over analyzing things but I just can't take it, I swear I will have a mental breakdown one day (on the sidewalk, on a wet and rainy day...) D':

Don't-wanna-go-to-work syndrome is hitting hard. DD: I have to work 9.5 hours tomorrow... So to wallow in my own (remaining) happiness, my tendency to j-dorama and anime my life away seems to be coming back.

Finished watching:

Deka Wanko (デカワンコ):
Humorous police drama featuring a young rookie detective with a keen-sense of smell, good enough to match up to police (drug) dogs. And along side of her intensive lolita & frills-frills fashion sense, she and the rest of her team (a whole bunch of MEN) solves a number of murder cases! It's a great way to kill time since it's a little funny and light despite the fact that every episode, someone has to die DD:

Kimi ni Todoke (君に届け):
As hard as it is to believe, I do read shoujo (don't faint from the shock just yet!) And this, although it is the only one I follow regular updates with, is as pure-shoujo as anything can get. I mean, the original manga has already been passed 40 chapters and they just got past the stage of holding hands (if it was BL, rolling in the mattresses would have long been uneventful by now.)

But manga aside, I am here to talk about the live action film (starring Miura Haruma~~ V) It was a little fast-paced but I really did enjoyed it quite a bit. All the characters were great (though Ryuu could have had a little LESS facial expression on his face XD) and the flow of the story (for someone who never read the manga) was probably just right. A lot better than the anime because the anime was just way too redundant for anyone who had already read the manga DD: Btw: notice the girl who plays in Deka Wanko and Kimi ni Todoke?? (Looks familiar?~~)

In the middle of watching:

Steins;Gate:
Supposedly, this was a highly anticipated visual novel turned anime. It has something to do with time traveling via a phone-controlled microwave (that can turn bananas into green pudding bananas...) I am still not entirely sure what it is about since I didn't get it, if someone knows, do tell me DD:

AnoHana/We Still Don`t Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day(あの日見た花の名前を僕達はまだ知らない):
What a mouth full, I know D: But so far so good, at least it made sense (unlike Steins;Gate!) It's about six friends who grows apart because of the death of one of them, now many years later, the remaining childhood friends come back together to fulfill the wish from the dead friend. It has the potential to get really sad but it hasn't yet so I am quite grateful but it was honest and sweet, the art is pretty, the characters are adorable and I think I can't wait for more! XD

Tiger & Bunny:
I had high expectations for this but really, I am hating the main pair more and more... and the fact that I am only on ep. 2 don't help DD: Tiger is too uke (yes, it's possible for an uncle!type to become TOO uke for me to take) and bunny is just not my cup of tea (god, hate the hair, hate the glasses, hate his cool demeanor.) Currently, not sure whether I will continue to watch this... DD: Though I am totally addicted to it's ED song, Aobouzu(藍坊主)'s Hoshi no Sumika. XD

Take down that Love Machine

Title: Summer Wars (サマーウォーズ/夏日大作戰)

Summary:
Set in a world where a a large portion of real life can be controlled by a virtual reality called OZ. When a math-genius was roped into a (suspiciously) good part-time job that required him to spend four days at his senpai's family house, it almost seemed like a dream come true.

And then he meets her extended family (25 people+ and still coming). But that was only the beginning because in the next four days, his OZ account (and along with about ten million other people's accounts) gets hacked by an artificial intelligence call the Love Machine (hmm... there has to be some innuendo I am missing here!!) As expected, the Love Machine acts out in OZ and chaos ensures in real life. So it is now up to math-genius Kenji, his pretty senpai, Natsuki and the rest of her family to take the Love Machine down! (or be hit by a falling satellite from space.)

Commentary:
Fun times all around. It was fast-paced (action sequences), heart-warming (family bits), and humorous (both character design and those quirky OZ account-avatars.)

Despite the blatant boyxgirl relationship, this film (of course) would have some (if not major) potential for being gayed on. Like math-genius, Kenji and his super adorable personality (I have HUGE love for his character) and there are always the kickass uncles in the family that just makes you swoon with their middle-age-ness -thumbs up!-

However, as expected everyone's beloved boy wonder: moe-moe Kazuma-kun (who can kick major ass on OZ with his rabbit-avatar: King Kazma) with his loose tanktop-shorts combo along side of his tan-tan skin (though i think I would find him so much more MOE if he was older like 20+ because I see his potential as a seme!) ;) Though its so sad to see that typing 'summer wars kazuma' into google image, all you get is shota-uke!Kazuma being sexed on... DDD': I can't even find and link a proper pic of him here!! OTL

I must add, I am a huge fan of the the evil force in this film: Love Machine, not only does the name sound just so damn romantic, it is kinda cute (whether it be in giant black form, Indian God form, or just mini-Mickey/Kenji's avatar gone twisted form.) XD Though it might have something to do with the muscles... V

There is a little something to satisfy everyone, whether it be romance, humor, action, moe little boys or even sexy uncles (<-- or is this just me??! DD:)!~ If you don't watch this film, you just won't know what you are missing out on!

I am Bread Gone Bad

Why thou I smell worst than the garbage at home?

When I started working at this bakery, I thought I would smell like bread and all that is lovely. Oh damn, how wrong could I be.

It may the oil and the mass array of bread gathered in a tiny store but everyday I come home smelling disgusting DD': I have to be quarantined or something if I don't shower (with an extra amount of nice-smelling whatever) immediately.

Despite how bad I smell, I am starting to get a hand on things and it is a lot less stressful than when I first started and my feet hurt less even if I stand for 5+ hours non-stop.

PLUS! I got my first paycheck (more like cash in a plastic baggie OTL) *u*

Two weeks of blood, sweat, and tears- no not really, it was more like two weeks of bread, bread, and more bread XD

PS: I finally got around to watching the 2009 animated film Summer Wars! (I feel like I have been watching more anime/dramas/films since I started working DDD:?!) And of course, shall be writing review for it soon.

Tiger vs. Bunny

Status: Currently airing.

Summary:
Set in a city where superheroes work for famous sponsors (Pepsi, Bandai, Calbee and the likes) and their live-action fighting are broadcasted on a news channel of sorts called Hero TV. The story revolves around the partnership between long-time superhero Kotetsu T. Kaburagi (Wild Tiger) and rookie Barnaby Brooks Jr. (Barnaby Brooks Jr.) <-- yes, this is also his superhero name.

(So yeah, Japanese-version of Iron-man gone commercial basically.)

Commentary:
I heart not outrageous gay but hinting on gay sort of gay anime because it allows me to do the pairing myself. :D And this is a little like a choice of my cup of tea, after Star Driver, I really didn't expect I would find something THIS fast to entertain myself. Even though it is not as dazzle-dazzle as Star Driver or as sexy as my favorite band of bad guys (yes, Kiraboshi, I am talking about you,) Tiger & Bunny will work for now. XDD

Plot-wise, it is really straight forward but I have only watched up to episode 2. But with the way Tiger calls Barnaby: Bunny, I really don't know how gay they can get but knowing it's an anime by Japanese people, I can only expect so much more, can't I? XDDD

Title: Tono to Issho (殿といっしょ/和殿下一起)

By: Anime adapted from Ooba Kai's original 4-panel manga with the same name

Status: Season 1 (殿といっしょ 1分間劇場&OVA) released, Season 2 (殿といっしょ〜眼帯の野望〜) is currently airing.

Summary:
It's a gag manga (~~roughly~~... more like not at all) based on the characters of the basara era so likewise, the anime is filled with gags. With a slight focus on Date Masamune, a young tono (lord) with an unhealthy gantai (eyepatch) fetish and he even goes as far as creating unnecessary fancy eyepatches (example: a double eyepatch: an eyepatch for each of your eyes... and even an facepatch: an eyepatch for your face... OTL|||) Though there are so many more characters that get featured in for every mini episode.

Commentary:
It's damn funny, though I suggest those who haven't watch Season1 to just watch the OVA and skip the mini episodes, cuz the OVA is basically an extended version of all 12 episodes in season1.

As expected, it is full of random lol and surprisingly, quite a few gay gags (I don't complain however.) XDD And yes, the pink haired moe-moe girl there in the picture is a man. Hence this:

Also season2 is currently being aired so I am totally on the look out to watch it~

However, don't watch it with history in mind, please. There is nothing educational about Bishmonten becoming Bishaemon ~~(Doraemon)~~ or Date Masamune creating Mobile Suit Gantain ~~(Gundam.)~~

Summary:
A young girl is thrown into a mental institution where trying to escape reality, she turns to create her own fantasy world in order to set her and other inmates free. Thus, mad sexiness ensues. (Yes!)

Commentary:
God, you sexy things. As I've mentioned, this is one hot mess smothered in stockings, garters, high heels, and panties flash, in which I more than approve of -thumbs up- ;D This film has to be every otaku's ~~wet~~ dream come true, it has a perfect balance of sword fights, robot fighting, monster fighting, dragon fighting, sexy costumes and a heck lot of big guns!!

Since it was directed by the same man as 300 (a plotless war movie full of muscle men with no shirts on but do wear tiny mini skirts around their waist: SPARTAAA!) I did not expect a plot in this. But surprisingly, there was a story, maybe not so in depth and well explored as it could have been. Still, the stories integrated itself in the other and after it was smothered inall these MOE-MOE moments. V V

If you are just as interested in bishoujo as me, you better go watch it!!

Btw they published an art book (Sucker Punch: The Art of the Film by Zack Synder) and my god its gorgeous, I need those colored pages after colored pages of art! Also I am so buying the DVD when it comes out (b/c all the 18+ scenes were cut out to rate the film PG!! DD:)

Bread! Girls! Gags! Kiraboshi! 18?!

1. I've got a job! (Congrats self.) I am starting training at this small bakery working at the front counter. I've got lots of bread-costs to remember and need to learn how to brew coffee, milk-tea, lemon tea, and etc. asap for below minimum pay. But money is money and there is no place closer (its practically next to my house.) XD

2. Watched Sucker Punch! And shall be blogging about it soon because who can resist five hot girls dressed in high heels, fishnet stockings, garters, and sailor outfits with big guns, axes and katana fighting robots, fire-breathing dragons, and orcs from LotR. ;)

3. Chinese class and Jap class is nearing the end so final projects and exams need to be prepared for!! :D After finishing my Chinese book report, I need to start writing the script for my Jap CM where we'll be promoting an Energy drink through loads of gags. XD And there are also that 290+ Jap verbs that need to be memorized... D:

4. Watched the final episode of Star Driver! It was not as DAZZLE-DAZZLE than my expectations, and it feels like there won't be a season 2 D; But Takuto-kun still went back to his favorite King's Pillar after all (~~sound so dirty~~) OTL Sorry Wako, Sugata-kun and Takuto-kun are having a romantic date in outer space after Takuto-kun broke your seal and destroyed the world to save Sugata-kun's libido release. ...Oh god, what am I saying??! Still, one last tribute: Kiraboshi!! （>ゝω・）~ And if spoilers permit, Takuto still killed boss in like one-punch, talk about almighty!mains much!

5. Shall be turning the golden legal age of 18 on Sat *u* ~~(hey! Now I can read pron!!)~~ My mom was planning to take me to the casino for their dessert buffet and then we found out you had to be 19 to go into the casino *sad face*

Star Driver Ep. 23 Spoilers up ahead!!

The second last episode has been released! (I died a little on the inside with that knowledge, I mean we definitely need more dazzle and Galactic Pretty Boy in our life.)

But Star Driver is never the type to disappoint, it is the type that will widen your eyes to the possibilities and make you do a WTF face along with that. And this was just it.

It is no surprise that Sugata-kun would join Kiraboshi!（<ゝω・）~ I mean, he does have the King's Pillar and a longer XXX than Takuto-kun *snickers* And just when you thought everyone in Kiraboshi has the most ridiculous costume possible (thong-on-the-outside!Ryousuke-san and screws-for-nipples!Lesbian-pair), Sugata-kun comes along in all his Kingly glory.

Aside from maple syrup, snow, and world peace, Canada isn't famous for much. Especially when it comes to the music industry, there are barely anything good to my ears. I mean, come on, we created Justin Bieber－who?! (But I must admit, my taste in music aren't all that mainstream so I know I can be a little biased.)

A rare occurrence and I found a lovely Canadian Indie rock band that is based in Vancouver, BC. -claps happily- Mother Mother is quirky little band with the fun(est) lyrics. This one in particular is one of my favorite! (But all three albums they have released already are good too!)

Summary:
Featuring a cast of amazing actors. Tetsu (Odagiri Joe) cleans public toilets for a living, Shingo (Kase Ryo) is a police officer stuck at a desk, and Saki (Kuriyama Chiaki) is a pharmacist with a glass-eye in replacement of a missing one. The three of them first met on a hijacked bus.

Three months later, a chance meeting between Tetsu and Shingo led to a revenge-for-hire operation. To promote their business, they vandalized bathroom stalls to offer their help to anyone seeking revenge. Their aim was to get back at the world, however, one prank leads to another, and it wasn't long until they crossed the line and someone got hurt.

Commentary:
I must say, I was largely attracted to it because of the cast (loved them in Atami no Sousakan~ v) Warning though, the themes and plot of the story is a little dark and twisted, the ending is also rather sad D': But the one thing that really stood out were the costumes, considering how this movie has been released a while ago, I think the costumes really gave the characters a certain depth that I loved. For a super alternative movie, I personally found it really great.

All Natural Snow

For someone who doesn't leave the house five days a week, getting off my ass for a ski trip is quite a big thing.

The weather was perfect, it was snowing madly the night before and in the morning that we were skiing, the sun even came out. But for me (who haven't skied for at least 4 years) I did not venture any further than the baby hill. XDD (I only fell twice!!)

It was a lot of fun, especially the snow tubing we did afterwards :D Where you sit in a large rubber swim-ring lookalike and someone tosses you over the edge before you slide down a high hill screaming. You could go down yourself or in groups and there a lot of positions to choose from (-snickers- yes I'm serious!!) depending on whether you are in twos, threes or X number of people XDD

However, when I got home the next day, I was sore (even collar bones...) all over. OTL

Star Driver Spoilers Alert!

Star Driver gets better with each passing episode, it just can't disappoint. Episode 20 is a past episode and we all get to find out all the juicy scandals of the last generation. -rubs hands together-

Remember the man from maybe three posts down? (Yes the one who wears his ~~underwear~~ thong on the outside!) I finally remember his name and Ryousuke-san is actually an important aspect of the story (surprise!) even though I thought he is just a pervy uncle with some weird clothing-fetishes. OTL

But flashback episode was more than glorious, it was scandalous and who would've thought he was such an ikemen when he was younger! -goes crazy for him-

Watching this episode reminded me of cheesy soap operas, just swap in one of the two female leads with another man and you'll get this. (That definitely earns you ten more thumbs-up from me because the more men, the merrier, always.)

And Takuto-kun's dad just goes around the entire island seducing men and women both alike. If only you didn't have such a face, everybody would be shaming on you...

Red light, green light, just don't leave the house!

Nearly got ran over by a car that did not see the red light.

I was crossing the street for the bus stop. The light turned green and the little white man (on the pedestrian lights) blinked at me. I stepped on to the street, took three steps maybe and then I heard the honking of a car.

Turned my head to the side and saw a lonely car coming at me.

The woman driving tried to slow down (I think she could have stopped without hitting me) but obviously, I backed up to the safety of the sidewalk and the car just continued on its way.

Honestly, I didn't feel much, no panic, no fear, no life-flashing-before-my-eyes-type-of-thing, just: ah, car (coming at me...?)

-wipes at non-existent sweat- But man, was that close! Better pay more attention before crossing the street because a green light might now necessary mean safety ;)

Akira grew up on an island where the average age is about 65. With no one his age and a rugby ball as his (only) friend, he leaves the island and enters Meisetsu Technical Highschool in hopes of... well getting some friends.

Commentary:
Recommended by the lovely cheezy (I love you for introducing me to this bunch of gay gay boys!!)

First things first, as much as it seems like a BL manga (only thing missing is a bright red: 18+), this is a sports manga (yes, now that we have ran out of all the good sports, we must resort to one that requires a lot of tight shorts and a lot more tackling... mmm how did I not see this?) drawn in a very BL-esque style.

Much like tennis (POT) and baseball (Rookies) I obviously don't know how to play rugby. But technical side shoved aside, you only need to know that there are 15 hot-blooded (beyond gay) boys who just can't get enough of the sport (and each other) and as we all know 15 boys can lead to a lot of ships. Yes, gay is the new friendship.

But as we all know, everything I like are always blatantly overlooked or just ignored. Yes, my love is a curse, this series does not have a fandom, not even a Jap one and I just don't understand why with all the possibilities!!! Even the artist drawn them all out! Look, just how many official pairings have already been established here???

Summary:
Set in an Earth where aliens from all over galaxy live among human beings, Prince Baka Ki El Dogra is an alien from the planet Dogra who crash landed on Earth and conveniently loses his memory. He forces his presence on baseball-boy, Tsutsui Yukitata and the two begins to share Yukitata's apartment together (in a love-love relationship.)

Commentary:
Hilarious. This can be categorized up there with Gintama because it really gives you a familiar vibe. Yes, loads of dumb, some sweat drops, and just a little OTL. But stupid jokes are what gets people laughing these days (have all our IQ go down??!!)

My personal favorite has to be the character of Kraft-taichou, he resembles a personified cockroach but mind, he is a very sexy (and M) one ;DD V V V (see below~)

Level E is pure entertainment that is hard to find these days. Go watch it!!

Status: Currently airing on TBS with 16 episodes so far.

Summary:
This is the bastard child of Gundam 00 and Tsugumi OobaxTakeshi Obata (Bakuman&DN team) with a tint of Clamp.

Taking place on Southern Cross Island, Takuto-kun (say his name three times fast and you will have your tongue in a knot, I swear) is actually the legendary Ginga Bishounen (Galactic Pretty Boy ⊙u⊙bb) who finds himself defending the world against a mysterious group called Kiraboshi (Glittering Star Crusade... ??!) who wants to break the seals on the four mikos (witches) on the island so their Cybodies (basically Gundams) can function in the real world.

And so the repetitive fights between the two ridiculously dressed continues yet again (with our Galactic Pretty Boy winning every single time)!! Honest to goodness, I have yet to find a plot in all this... D:

Commentary:
Seems like a joke? But as ridiculous as it seems, it is definitely for real -snickers-

I don't even know how to comment on this, there is just too much to say that it has left me speechless. DD: This can be considered serious crack, I mean our main character is the Galactic Pretty Boy (銀河美少年) after all and the fact that his midriff is always in your face even when he is the normal!Takuto-kun doesn't help out his situation either =u=bb Even Sailor Moon got the better end of this deal.

Since I am a sucker for the fabulous(-ly gay,) Star Driver is just my taste. And did I mention the fan service? ;DD Episode four and we are already rolling in between the sheets? How scandalous!

"Wait, we can't, Sugata. Aren't we friends?" Says the darling (uke) Galactic Pretty Boy.
"Until today we were." -insert wink- replies Sugata in his drop-dead sexy voice.

*Note: this is in the imagination of our very own main female character (fujoshi), Wako who is both the fiancee of Sugata-kun and the not-so-secret-love-interest of Takuto-kun. OTL|||

Episode 9 and it's about time to get cleaned up after a weekend full of XXYY??! These two are canon beyond canon.

However, I understand that not everyone are fujoshi and the pictures above does not amuse you endlessly like it did to me. But Star Driver still has sexy ladies for the boys and a host club for the girls out there who are watching this. Mmm! Kiraboshi has the strangest dressed people in their group but they all look so good in it.

There are a lot of hair color but as long as your hair is brown, you are not important in any sense. Only those with rainbow shades in their hair are considered remotely important (maybe that's why the three mains get the primary colors: Sugata(canon's seme?)-Blue, Wako(main girl turned pedestrian)-yellow, Takuto(Galactic Pretty Boy!)-Red.)

Commercial breaks are awesome because you have a voice sing out STAR DRIVERRRR~~ to you. ;D But ED2 is just as gold:

Title: Interview With the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles

Status: Based on the book of the same title by Anne Rice, the film was released in 1994 (old but still so good!)

Summary:
The gay vampire movie? Yeah, probably. But I think it is more of the classic gay vampire movie. ;D I hardly think I need to give an introduction to this, everyone should have watched it by now.

Commentary:
I am a little guilty for rewatching this but with all the vampire-craze (Team Edward? Team Jacob? How about Team I-prefer-them-gay-than-straight?) these days, I needed some vampires for myself. But I had not remember them as this gay... OTL but I won't complain.

Long-hair!Brad Pitt and Golden-curls!Tom Cruise, I am rendered speechless within the first five minutes when Lestat(Cruise) bites Louis (Pitt) in the neck and they spend like a minute in mid-air (most romantic one-minute mind you) where Louis looks ~~orgasmic~~ in pain... D: And may I add, Brad Pitt's lips look like Angelina Jolie's... ⊙_⊙bb

And then two more minutes into the film, Lestat is walking into lacy-pajamas-claded Louis's bedroom in the middle of the night!! If the first 10 minutes was like this, it is not too hard to imagine the next 120 more minutes, just add in a loli, a shota, and another gay man with equally shampoo-licious hair and you are all set.

Guess what, this film has it all.

Love Breaks My Heart

Title: Brokeback Mountain

Status: Based on a short story of the same name by Annie Proulx. Released on Dec 2005.

Summary:
The gay cowboy movie? Not at all. It is the story that follows two young men meant for the set life (rough jobs, marriage, then children) until the summer of 1963 when they first met up on Brokeback Mountain and found love in the other.

Commentary:
I know I am like eons late for this considering how openly gay (??!) I am. XD But truth be told, I have only watched it last night for the very first time. I have read the short story a while ago but knowing how bittersweet it was I had to wait before I break my heart in half again with the movie. I thought I would be fine (after so long) but it still gave me a clench in the heart and got me all teary eyed in too many bittersweet parts of the film.

A must watch, BL fangirl or not because it is not a film trying to be anything else besides the love story that it is.

The Holidays have their surprises

After growing up along side of The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow (it really shows how much of a healthy childhood I had, ne?), I had to go to Tim Burton's New York exhibit that was being featured in Toronto (my home base) as a long term fan of anything and everything Tim Burton.

And may I add, this man is a mad genius.

His exhibit is mostly composed of his sketches, art and less publicized works, some of which were never even used in the actual films he had already released. There were the real models used in the film of Corpse Bride, Edward Scissorhand's costume (hands included) and even Sweeny Todd's blades!!

To me, he is like a deranged Leonardo da Vinci with his sketches and art, it was insane ;D

More details see the Tim Burton exhibit at Toronto's TIFF Bell LightBox. I highly recommend anyone who is in the area and love Tim Burton's works like mad. :D And as an extra, this here is a special commission he had set up for the Christmas holidays, it is adorable:

Serious enjoyments over, we must now move on to more lighthearted discoveries I have had on a (rare) visit to the shopping mall. Yes, its that time of the year where even I leave the house for something other than school.

I am not all that sure how well-known H&M is around the world but here, where I live, H&M is a pretty popular clothing store. So far so good, my sisters and I wander into the store, look through the racks, try some clothes on (that is at least 50% off) and then I get bored. I glance at the posters around the store and see this:

I go holy wow and nudges my sister like mad. She convinces me they are brothers, but a larger part of me still believes that they are gay lovers (I mean, come on!)

A bit more glancing around, a bit more shuffling through the crowds and a few more snickers directed at the poster, we were ready to go. But just as we pass by their display windows to move on to another store, we stand back and we see this.

HOLY ****!! ~~(BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN ANYONE?!)~~

By then, H&M no longer stood for whatever it actually does and there is no convincing in this world that could change my (and my sisters') mind.

Is this even allowed??! If it wasn't for that sale tape over the window, I think they would have stood out like crazy. Is this a subliminal message to brainwash us? Because if it is, I must say, I completely approve.

On H&M's official site, they have more pictures and even short clips (see here for more) where they name the first pair 'brothers' whereas the other one is called 'friends'... who are you trying to kid?! D:

... I won't deny it, I want to apply for a job there so maybe when the holiday seasons are over, I would get to take these posters home for keeps... *u*

Did sheep-brain dissection today :)

It was a little smaller than expected (a bit larger than a palm minus the fingers) but other than: grass, rock, bush in the distance, more grass, oh-my-gosh could that be more grass ? I can't think of anything they think about.

None the less, it reeked so bad. I stopped thinking about anything after three minutes.

I still miss my pig dissection from last year though... (here we must give an honorable mention to K-Jr., who first died before it was born and then died again after it came to the world.)

Title: Crows Zero (クローズ ZERO/热血高校)

Status: Based on Takahashi Hiroshi's manga, Crows, two films have been produced: Crows Zero (2007)& Crows Zero II (2009).

Summary:
Classic high school (mini-?) yakuza story. Meet Takiya Genji, son of a yakuza boss. As an agreement, he must conquer Suzuran high school (local all boys school famous for its, you guessed it, violent boys) by graduation in order to inherit his father's group, a task even his father failed to do in his time. So he transfers to Suzuran in his senior year and begins his conquest.

Crows Zero II features Suzuran against another notorious badass school.

Commentary:
If you love violent boys hitting it off (take it as you wish) then this is a must watch.

Personally, as an ubber (yes, already totally obsessed) fan of ヨネダコウ (Yoneda Kou,) I had to read sensei's Crows Zero doujinshi, Borderless. And needless to say, I totally fell in love with it. That's why I had to go watch the two movies and fill myself up with the original work.

Aside from all the violence and the overboard with the fake blood, these 'underaged' children smoked way too much. Almost every screen shot had whoever on screen smoking away, I understand it's badass but I am pretty sure by twenty-five, all of them will see each other at the lung-cancer ward DD:

But badass children are badass and we all love bad boys, especially when they are all cute with each other. Yes, it's undeniable, with an all-boys school, you can't get away from the boys-on-boys, it's almost too sweet when they aren't smashing each other's faces with their fists. ;D

When I watched Crows Zero II (I didn't even bother looking at the poster, I just went ahead and download) I almost squealed out loud when Miura Haruma appeared! V V~ *Rant ahead: I am not sure whether I have mentioned this, but since Bloody Monday, I have been a sincere fan of his~ Playing a year-one student in the neighbouring school Suzuran goes up against, he has quite a minimal part. But the last part where he fights just totally killed me (he was too cool!) Honestly speaking though, this school is a monk-school, everyone else aside from these six are bald faceless people in gray jump suits... (↓Haruma is on the far right. v)

Commentary:
For a four-panel styled manga, this has got to be the best I've ever read. It is crack-tastic in every sense as we follow the main character (and his idiotic friends that somehow all gets dragged into the mess) through his exploration of the BL world we are so familiar with. As I was reading this, I laughed till my sides hurt and I am not even exaggerating, it is that funny. So I wholeheartedly suggest this for relaxation or uplifting purposes, especially after those stressful cram days ;DD

Apparently two years is a huge difference, especially when it comes to two siblings growing up in the same family.

I am always surprised by how two years could create such a huge difference between my sister and I.

I believe in respecting my elders (my parents at the very least) but she doesn't. And every time I see her shrugging off our parents for the sake of another 'mood' she is always in I get so aggravated. I can't understand how come she can do what she does without feeling a bit ashamed of herself. Maybe one day I could see things from her perspective. Maybe I am too ticked off, but right now, I really don't think I want to see anything from her perspective.

I have chemistry to finish, a fic I want to write and a manga I really want to promote. But I've got to get this out in a rant before I say something rude in front of her face for real.

And I am doomed to be blind someday if not soon DD: I went to have my eyes checked a few days ago since I have been having SUCH difficulties seeing the Periodic Table clearly from across the room in chemistry class DD: (I swear those PTables were meant to be used in vision tests!)

I just finished watching the last episode of Atami no Sousakan (promotional post is two posts down.) And I don't know whether I should be disappointed or excited... DD:

Episode 8 (the last one mind you) promised for a
second season!!

(iiSpoilers ahead!!)

After watching the entire first season, I felt that the human experiments (and bringing people back to life in general) idea are a little overrated but it felt alright with the series, I mean they could only seem cool for so long before crawling back to the classic cliches.

But even as excited I am for the second season, there is one thing that I am afraid of and that is the series would go a little paranormal, I mean the last scene did show a dead guy (driver-san!!) driving the bus into a cave of blinding white light...!! DD':

I am disappointed because I have to wait until WHO KNOWS WHEN for season two but I am so excited because the series was THAT good!!

Anticipation doesn't help me focus, especially not if I have a bioology quiz tomorrow morning... DD:

Lucky Number 12.5

I am sure a lot of people had already heard about the special episode 12.5 :DD And as a long time supporter of Shiki, how can I not help spread the word even more? ;D

When I first watched it, Shiki's appearance came as a huge surprise for me because I sincerely had no idea that he would even be featured~ Even if you aren't a Shiki-fan, you have to admit his entrance was pretty grand and the fact that he spoke grammatically-correct English was pretty amazing XD

The second thing Drrr!! 12.5 made me another happy fangirl was that my support had not been in vane!! Shiki and Izaya shared the same shot, canon supports them (and me) too!!! *u*
