And it wasn't because I had terrible sashimi-cutting skills! (But it sounds like I managed to make it taste bad, just by cutting it =u=bb And if I did, that would take some serious skills DD: )
But I think it was just because this type of maguro isn't meant to be eaten raw. It smelled overly fishy (unappetizing) and I even tried to make a maguro sushi with it, but it still tasted funky.
In the end, we cooked the expensive maguro. -face palms- And it turned out to look a lot like pork.

Lol, poor maguro, I haven't had one since I came to US, I don't trust non-japanese cutting the fish. Usually it takes skill to make the magura taste nice, I think that's why when I went to a proper sushi master restaurant to eat, I actually paid RM20 for a plate of 2 and I could have gotten like RM8 for 2 in those kaiten sushi place. RM20 is about er 6.50USD... Nonetheless, GIVE ME MAGUROOOO <3333

-ands over bad tasting maguro- ;P Sashimi just doesn't taste the same even you eat it at home versus when you eat it outside at proper sanitary restaurants XDDD Maybe next time then? ;D
