Where we start

Title: Skyfall

Release: 2012

Summary:
It's a James Bond movie, I am pretty sure we know the routine by now.

Or James Bond is growing old and should really retire and get a nicer hobby, like gardening or something.

Uhh... this is actually the first Bond movie I went to the theatre to watch so I might just be the worst person to ask for an explanation on what usually goes on in any 007 film. (I don't even think I ever watched Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace...)

Commentary:
Okay, so I went into the theatre expecting 00Q (Bond/Quartermaster) feels because of alllll the hype over the gawky fresh glasses-wearing darling that is Q, looking every bit like he needs someone to mess him up, cue Bond.

However, like all ships, you don't choose. Rather, they choose you! (It's a fact, I almost expect it now days.) So big bloody ships aside, I am crazy for the new M, Mallory! Played by Voldemort with a nose, he is all cleaned up and in a suit looking almost like the typical politics man. But then the crazy gun fights start and he goes all G-man on everyone (and also Bond winks at him so there's that too). So I hereby claim 007/M should be 00M, either that or M00 and that would resemble moo... And have I mentioned: 007 nearly gets butt-raped by our villain, Silva? Oh, it's quite eyebrow-raising to say the least.

Ships aside! The film was an odd mix: the plot felt very much like a less dramatic version of TDKR in combination of Home Alone, the villain almost Joker-like, but gorgeous gorgeous scenery. But I must mention, Skyfall's opening credits is quite the feast for the eyes, although a bit over the top but its James Bonds x Adele crossover so it's allowed to be this wow!

Though they are beautiful, Bond girls on the other hand were kind of just meh, like they were there but there was still something majorly lacking to them. But I could just be bias. D:

All plots aside, it lives up to its name as good entertainment. There is the occasional joke, gorgeous sets, pretty people, and all the explosions you want. ;)
