your odd is my norm

I thought I was pass the whole controversies of today's world and the likes.

Apparently, my course selections say no.

So, here I am, writing a persuasion essay on the legalization of gay marriage. (Like I need any persuasion but seriously, why is this still an issue in the United States?) I am not going to argue for anything here, I need to reserve that for my essay and it isn't like anyone who reads this isn't already for social justice.

But as I am looking through some sources, I really want to punch a wall that only 11 countries out of the entire world has legalized same-sex marriage nationwide. /scoffs Seriously? Are we really in 2013? (And my fucking god, the first country to legalize it was in 2001. How closed minded are we as the human race?)

Another thing I seriously want to snort at? The movement for polygamy and polyamory is poised to use the successes of same-sex couples as a springboard for further de-institutionalizing marriage.

Well, to that I would like to say: fuck you and your concept of marriage.

Note, it might be because I've got fandom to support my interest or I don't know, a I-don't-care-what-you-do-behind-close-doors type of mentality. But how does polygamy or polyamory affect marriage? Is there something fundamentally wrong with loving more than one person? (Because then you are just saying that monogamy isn't possible in a polygamy relationship and let me just say: devotion to two people is the same as devotion to one.) As long as they love one another, they deserve to be legally recognized, just like every-fucking-one else.

End of story. There is no dilemma here.

PS: She writes some pretty good insight.
