Purging sounds serious

Ugh, and ff.n is never meant to be serious!

Also, if you can't tell yet, this is going to be a rant.

ff.n is a place for 13 years old girls to write their fantasies into two gay men they can't split their love between because they are just that much of a perfect human being! I started there when I was about 13/14, deleted most of the crap I wrote back then by now, but is still a part of it 7 years later.

So why now?

I never even heard a story being reported, much less deleted. And now, there are people who has made it their mission to report other people's fics (let me get into authors breaking the rules later) to the admins? I won't stop you, heck, I can't stop anyone other than myself, but don't do it in the name of 'cleaning up ff.n' because that is just wrong and sick.

Rules are needed, that much I understand. But which author on ff.n hasn't broken that size 11 font page of rules, hell, who even reads that? (I don't! And I am pretty sure I can speak for 95% of all ff.n users that no one reads that page. I am pretty sure the admins themselves didn't read through it.) No explicit sexual content? Well, damn that's going to be a lot of fics gone from the site. It is a well known fact: we are all teens, sex is all we think about (mostly between two men but it isn't like anyone who has even visited ff.n once didn't know.)

As of now, most people are putting the blame on Critics United while they are focusing on reviewing the writer with whatever rule it is that they have broken (what a mission indeed, can you just imagine all the work? Writers really aren't big on rules) and reporting it to the admins when they don't fix and comply to the rules. (...Why does it sound like they have a knife at your babies' necks and is demanding for both money and a ticket out of the country?) But they do have a strict review first, then report if rules remain to be broken rule within the group.

Understandably, CU does have a point: ff.n has never been known to be quality, just quantity. And rules are rules and they may be acting within ff.n's rules but is mass-reporting fics going too far? Yes, I think so. Not all of us write fics because we are good at it, we all write it because we like to and would like to get better at it. If I could tolerate badfics, I am sure everyone else can. And frankly, what they are doing is destroying everything ff.n started out to be and that is being the 'World's largest fanfiction archive and forum where fanfic writers and readers around the globe gather to share their passion.' (Jokes on you, ff.n, ain't it if you keep deleting our works!)

Songfics and RPF (real people fanfiction) are the main targets, and that is sad because who hasn't taken inspiration from music and it is only recently that I stepped into the blackhole that is RPF. (Thank god, I got confused at where to post my McFassy and decided to just not put it on ff.n.)

And really, I never expect myself to be a part of it. But a fic of mine's has been removed (xmfc nonetheless, you don't mess with my current fandom, you just don't guys, I get possessive and it isn't good for anyone), not that it hasn't be reposted because it is back up on the site, on the account that the summary was inappropriate. Okay, fine, I admit I had the word 'fucking' in it so I didn't exactly minded this personal attack (still I am very much human and holds it forever against whoever reported me! Because, really? No warnings?)

Here are some helpful links if you want to know more:
Tumblr Against Critics United (which I am currently following just because I am curious)
WTF Fanfiction's extra helpful info (for links of how to backup your ff.n fics and etc.)
Petition against the Destruction of ff.n (petition link provided by Rincon-kunnnnnn ;D)

And yes, of course this will blow over with time, just like everything else on ff.n but in the mean time, is ff.n really serious about that image manager thing they have up? Deal with this first, thank you very much!

I think this is plainly ridiculous u.ú#

I agree with all you said. But I also add: who the hell are they to state what is right and what is wrong for people to write? I mean... NO writer in their right writer mind (which is usually devious)has determined patterns or themes to stick to when they put their ideas on paper or...in this case a digital format! They're just being nonsensical and intolerating and are restricting internet freedom! >''<##

It makes me so angry! And now you can't even use "bad words" because it isn't right? Lots of writers use bad words when they write! Even formerly published ones! They don't need anyone to censor them! >''<## Writing is one of the free ways of expressing oneself! And we aren't really harming anyone doing so >''<9

Am angry, sorry >3> Prolly am being way too...er...passionate about this, but it really gets on my nerves >3>#

Which one was the one they deleted from you, darling? ó.o

No, it's good to be passionate about stuff like this! Right now I am feeling better because I finish ranting out but before I was just like: how unfair! Who are you to tell me what I can't write??! (exactly what you thought!)

Besides, I have such a potty mouth in real life, the internet me is actually HUGELY censored already XDDDD Oh, the one deleted was Breaking, Breaking, Broken. But it is back up now XD
